New Delhi: The recent spate of bans in India has indeed spawned some humourous  from the social media people.

A caricature made by Aneesa Chisti, a student at the Indian School of Business sums up the world's most 'ridiculous' bans in one of her art works.

Some of the laws seem to be too funny to actually exist. For example, wearing yellow is banned in Malaysia, wonder what yellow canaries do in the country? The most laughable was the 2011 ketchup ban in France, although this law has been imposed only on primary school students, the French govt may have reportedly done it to save their 'culture'.

When being asked what led her to Chisti making these caricatures, she said, "After the beef ban, what really irked me was the 'majority rules' argument that everyone was making. 'By eating beef you are hurting the majority and not respecting the wishes of the government you elected'. I do not eat beef myself, but I don't think anyone has the right to impose dietary restrictions. When this was followed by the ban on the BBC documentary, it occurred to me that India's probably not the only country in the world with these problems. So I searched a little online about the subject and found over 60+ really silly bans being imposed all over the world."

She also added, "I wanted to mention only the little known ones. Many know of the bans imposed in the middle east, but not many are aware of the silly laws imposed by the çivilised western world"
