China promotes green burials
Beijing: People in a Chinese province are being encouraged to opt for floral burials so as to save piece of land from being wasted.
Residents of the Hubei province`s most populous capital city
Wuhan in Central China are being asked to consider flower burials by pouring ashes into the cellar beneath flower beds, China Daily reports.
According to the municipal authorities, the ashes would dissolve into the earth, thereby saving the land. Plus people can honour the deceased with flowers at a minimal cost of 100 Yuan (USD 14.8) per year.
Other ecological burials include tree and lawn burials, the report said.
