Christmas Eve luckiest day for winning lottery

London: The National Lottery has claimed that Christmas Eve is the luckiest day of the year for winning the lottery.

National Lottery organisers said December 24 is the luckiest day of the year, with more jackpots of 1 million pounds or more won on the day in the past 16 years than any other time of the year. To celebrate, it has guaranteed to create a further 25 millionaires in the UK in a special festive EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle draw. The EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle special draw aims at breaking the existing world record for the most millionaires in a single draw once more than 18 winners have come forward to receive their giant cheques. "The raffle is brilliant because it is so simple, match your number and you win 1 million pounds," Sky News quoted a National Lottery spokesperson as saying. "This special draw is something players will love - 25 prizes all guaranteed to be won in one night, all in the UK - and more money raised for Good Causes across the country," the spokesperson added.
