London: Simon Cowell has dropped his biggest hint yet that singer Cheryl Cole is set to join him as a judge on the American ‘X Factor’.
Rumours have been doing the rounds that executives at the Fox TV network were worried about the 27-year-old`s Geordie accent - and her being unknown in the States.
But Cowell, 51, said bosses had "fallen in love" with Cheryl - and reckons she will become as big in America as she is over here.
"This girl is special. She`s got a great ability to communicate. She``s a great judge. She`s smart,” the Sun quoted Cowell as saying.
"It`s just a hunch. If people take to her like the British public did, I think she`s going to do really well in America. Fox were desperate to hire her."
Cowell added the US X Factor deal was "almost conditional" on her taking the gig.
It is thought Cheryl`s deal will be signed off in the next few days.
