Elvis Presley`s genes `destined` him to die early

London: A new DNA analysis of Elvis Presley, who died at the age of 42, has claimed that the singer was destined to die early because he had obesity and heart ailments in his genes. When he was found collapsed on the bathroom floor of his Tennessee mansion in 1977, the king of rock `n` roll was hugely overweight and addicted to junk food.

The hair analysis, conducted by Dr Stephen Kingsmore at the Children`s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for the programme ` Dead Famous DNA `, also found genes associated with migraines and glaucoma. Kingsmore said that the new intriguing finding that possibly Presley had a medical illness and all of the stuff about how he killed himself with his lifestyle might have been very unfair. Mark Evans said that the new study shows that Presley`s death might have been his "genetic destiny". Evans asserted that for years, Presley has been blamed for his own death, for overeating or overdosing on drugs, but both of these addictions wouldn`t have helped because it seems he had a flaw in his DNA.
