Los Angeles: "Birdman" actress Emma Stone had to teach her "Irrational Man" director Woody Allen about micro-blogging site Twitter.

The 26-year-old actress, who appeared on "Conan", revealed that the "Annie Hall" director asked her for a "good example" of a Twitter post.

"He asked me what Twitter was. I had to explain Twitter to him,'It's 140 characters, you have to write these sentences. I don't really understand the point unless you are a musician advertising a gig or you are comedian doing one liners'."

Stone, who went to the account of Joyce Carol Oates and chose a quote the author had posted was left amused, as it turned out to be one of veteran filmmaker's own.

"'That's my line. We said it about forty times. I don't think she intentionally stole my line, maybe she just remembered. But it is very funny. I see the point I see,'" Allen replied.

The actor revealed he said the line is from the 1989 film "Crimes and Misdemeanors" which he starred in with Alan Alda.
