New Delhi: FTII students have been detained in the nation's capital as protests go on outside Shastri Bhavan, a leading news channel reported.
The students have been protesting outside the Information and Broadcast ministry against the appointment of television actor Gajendra Chauhan as FTII Chairman. They have said that Chauhan does not have enough standing to be appointed as the head of the reputable institute. He lacks the vision as well as experience for the job, they said.
Several film personalities too took to the streets in Mumbai on Thursday to protest the appointment.
It has been 22 days since the protests have started, the I&B ministry is yet to respond to the students.
