Fun night-outs with colleagues boosts teamwork
London: Socialising after office hours with colleagues can serve as a good morale booster for employees, give way to teamwork and also help developing trust and camaraderie, a new study has suggested.
On an average, employees in Britain attend three official work functions a year, the Daily Express reported.
In the poll of 2,000 UK workers, 60 percent admitted that they worked harder in the build-up to a business bash, to feel they have earned it.
Four in 10 were eager to find out what their teammates were ‘really’ like, and had more fun than they expected with colleagues.
“Offices can suffer a lot from internal politics or people who don’t make the effort to connect,” Ian Cowley said.
“It’s good to see that getting to know our co- workers impacts positively on our performance and that a fun office can actually be more productive,” Cowley added.
