Gary Glitter charged with eight counts of sexual offences against girls

London: Gary Glitter has been charged with eight counts of sexual offences against girls, it has been revealed.According to reports, the charges relate to two women who were aged between 12 and 14 at the time of the alleged offences between 1977 and 1980.

Baljit Ubhey, chief crown prosecutor for CPS London, said that they had carefully considered the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police Service. Ms Ubhey further said that police had been providing material to the CPS since July 2013, where the most recent material was submitted in March 2014. Glitter became famous in the UK for his pop songs in the 1970s.
