Gary Oldman slammed for his comments

Los Angeles: Veteran actor Gary Oldman has been criticised by an anti-Semitism watchdog group for allegedly saying that Hollywood is "run by Jews".

The Anti-Defamation League has issued a rebuke of Gary Oldman`s recent Playboy magazine interview, during which the actor defended Mel Gibson`s anti-Semitic tirade, reportedly.

"Mel Gibson is in a town that`s run by Jews and he said the wrong thing because he`s actually bitten the hand that I guess has fed him," Oldman had said in the interview.

ADL director Abraham H Foxman released a statement on Tuesday saying that Oldman "should know better than to repeat tired anti-Semitic tropes about Jewish control of Hollywood." Foxman said Oldman`s views were disturbing. Oldman has not responded to Foxman`s comments so far.
