London: Fans can bid for an intimate date with George Clooney as the actor is putting himself up for auction to help gay schoolchildren.
The Descendants star wants to raise money for the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, the organisation works to keep schools safe for gay and transgendered young people. Bids are expected to go up to 12,000 pounds and the two highest bidders will have the meal with gorgeous George at Soho House in West Hollywood, a leading daily has reported. The auction is organised by the Charitybuzz site and runs until October 11. This is not the first time the actor has pulled out all the stops for charity. Clooney also sold his Tesla Roadster sports car to benefit humanitarian efforts in Sudan over the summer. Earlier it has been revealed that the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ star spent millions on spy satellites over Sudan to help keep an eye on human rights abuses taking place there. He set up the Satellite Sentinel Project after visiting the state in 2010. Clooney will be honoured with the Brass Ring for his “unprecedented humanitarian undertakings” at the glittering Carousel of Hope gala in Beverly Hills next month. ANI
