George Michael buys property in Australia

London: British singer George Michael has spent USD 6 million to buy an Australian holiday home down under.

The `Freedom` singer has splashed out for a five-bedroom property, which is on a secluded plot on the narrow rocky peninsula along Whales Beach, which is an hour north of Sydney.

The beautifully furnished home has an infinity pool overlooking Tasman Sea. The singer also owns homes in London and Los Angeles, the Contactmusic reported.

The `Careless Whisper` hitmaker, who was jailed earlier this year for driving under the influence of drugs and possession of cannabis, may spend most of his time in the US amid reports that he is in talks to join `X Factor` as one of the celebrity judges.
