Golden roses hit China on Valentine`s Day Beijing: Golden coloured roses, specially imported from South Korea, are selling like hot cakes in a Chinese city on Valentine`s Day.

The roses -- called ‘Golden Princess’ -- are specially coloured by a spray method, the China Daily reported.

The flowers are priced at 10,000 yuan (around $1,600) for a bunch of 52 in Guilin city of Guangxi Zhuang region.

Despite the price, the roses are in demand as customers want to express their hope for a stable relationship, which could be "harder than gold" to their beloved, a customer said.

The average price of roses in China is about 300 yuan ($48) for a bunch.
