London: Gwyneth Paltrow and Cameron Diaz are the latest celebrities to join the bandwagon of entertainment industry’s hot shots, who are supporting President Obama in his re-election campaign.
Just 24 hours after the 51-year-old Democrat was thrown a lavish fundraiser by hip-hop couple Jay-Z and wife Beyonce at the rapper’s New York 40/40 club, another fundraiser was held for the current US President on the other side of the Atlantic. The ‘Shakespeare In Love’ star was in charge of hosting the Obama Victory Fund 2012 event at the exclusive Mark’s Club in London on Tuesday night, the Daily Mail reported. She was joined by designer Tom Ford and Anna Wintour in hosting duties for the event, which aimed to help secure victory for Obama in the coming US elections. The 39-year-old actress donned a classy white dress, featuring an uneven hemline, and a pair of black court shoes, for the event. Paltrow wore her blonde hair loose and poker straight to perfectly complement her graceful outfit. Another Hollywood diva, Cameron Diaz, 40, was also present at the event and opted for a pink Emilia Wickstead jumpsuit for the occasion, again cutting a sophisticated figure in the ensemble, which she paired with white peep-toe shoes. However, while Diaz’s outfit looked modest from the front, there was a cheeky addition to the back - in the form of a cut-out detail. The actress tied her blonde hair in a ponytail to highlight the rear of her ensemble. Tickets for the event was priced at 9,000 pounds each, while donors were also invited to join the ‘host committee’ for a reported 24,000 pounds. ANI
