How cake makers ruined Salman Rushdie`s birthday

New York: Salman Rushdie’s 65th birthday started off with a blunder, as the renowned author’s cake made in the shape of a stack of his best-selling books included one misspelled title.
Party planner Michelle Barish was dismayed to find the Baltimore-based baker had written in gold lettering on one book, ‘Haroun and the Sea of Storms,’ rather than the correct title of his 1990 children’s work, ‘Haroun and the Sea of Stories,’ the New York Post reported. The cake was delivered before the party at the Four Seasons Restaurant on Tuesday, and Barish immediately made the driver turn back to Baltimore to have the wording fixed. Despite the literary lapse, the dessert made it back to the bash in time. Guests included Eric Eisner and Stacey Bendet, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis. ANI
