I didn't want boring kids: Uma Thurman

London: Actress Uma Thurman says she would have found it "intolerable" if her children didn't have a sense of humour.

The 44-year-old actress has two kids -- Maya, 15, and Levon, 12, with her ex-husband Ethan Hawke, reported Femalefirst.

"They're much smarter than I am and better behaved. And, thank God, they're funny, too. It would be intolerable to me to have a humourless, boring child - I'd have to send it back," she said.

Thurman portrays a TV executive in NBC drama 'The Slap', which tells the story of the aftermath of a party when a man slaps his friend's unruly child, but the actress insists she doesn't have any issues when it comes to telling her kids off.

"I've never had any problem with disciplining my children. They are so smart and intelligent that I never had trouble communicating with them," she said.
