London: Whitney Houston`s grieving mother, Cissy Houston has broken her silence about her daughter`s death saying that she is proud of the late singer. Cissy made her first public appearance since the Feb 11 tragedy on a chat show with a New Jersey news crew. It will be aired Monday. The 78-year-old gospel singer admits she has a long way to go before she can get on with her life after losing her daughter.
"I have my moments. I`m not there yet... If I could bring her back I would, but that`s not possible. My children are my whole life. She was very special to me... She was my only daughter, and a good one. She looked out for her family," she said.
Despite the drug and alcohol speculation surrounding Houston`s final days, Cissy refuses to let the negative talks kill the pride she has for her late daughter.
"I`m very proud of my daughter. She accomplished a whole lot in the short time that she had here... She was a very wonderful person," a website has quoted her as saying.
