Washington: President Barack Obama has said that his friendship with music celebrities Jay-Z and Beyonce is nothing out of the ordinary.
“They’re good people,” a leading daily has quoted him as saying.
“…Obviously they’re unbelievably successful, but they really are down-to-earth folks. And we talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends,” he said.
That includes offering first-time dad Jay-Z parenting advice, he said.
“They just had a new baby. …I made sure that Jay-Z was helping Beyonce out and not leaving it all to mom and the mother-in-law,” he added.
Obama befriended the stars when “they were supporters back in ’08.”
“Beyonce sang at our inauguration and Jay-Z did a bunch of get out the vote concerts….We’ve had them down to the White House,” he said.
The president added that “Beyonce could not be sweeter” to the first lady and his daughters who love her music.
As for his own iPod, Obama said he’s got “a bunch” of Jay-Z songs downloaded.
