New York: Jenny McCarthy`s joining of ABC`s talk show `The View` as a co-host has not gone down well with the viewers due to her controversial views on vaccination and its link to autism.
The blonde beauty, 40, has waged a long campaign against vaccinating children, claiming that her 11-year-old son`s diagnosis with autism in 2005 was due to his baby vaccinations. During an interview with Fox News, Dr. Shilpi Agarwal M.D., board-certified family physician said that the former Playboy playmate has used her celebrity status to publicize medical claims that have not been proven by the literature, the New York Post reported. Agarwal told the publication that while it is understandable that the actress has her own views on immunizations given to her child, she is going to be in front of impressionable young mothers and influencing their decision on immunizations and childcare. She asserted that multiple studies have shown that there is no link between childhood immunizations and autism , but the Weight Watchers spokesperson continues to publicize the grave `dangers` of vaccinations. Agarwal added that in her opinion, McCarthy would get a lot of pushback, which may be exactly what a show like ` The View` wants. ANI
