John Lennon’s microphone used to record ‘Imagine’ fetches £6K

London: John Lennon’s iconic microphone in which he had recorded early solo albums and hit song ‘Imagine’, has fetched 6,650 pounds at an auction.

The former ‘Beatle’ singer had installed the equipment at his Georgian manor estate, near Ascot, in 1970,which later became the recording venue for the ‘Plastic Ono Band’ and ‘Imagine’ albums.

Besides Lennon, his wife, Yoko Ono, Ringo Starr and George Harrison had once used the equipment during recording sessions, reports the BBC.

An acetate disc used for mastering recordings, in which all four Beatles have etched their names, is also expected to sell for tens of thousands of pounds.
