Los Angeles: 'Star Trek' actor Leonard Nimoy has reportedly been hospitalised for chest pains.
A Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson confirmed that a medical emergency occurred at 83-year-old Nimoy's home last Thursday, but would not confirm that the actor was the cause of the call, reported Los Angeles Times.
Nimoy's spokesperson also declined to comment on his current medical condition. Multiple media outlets are reporting that Nimoy was the party hospitalised.
The actor announced last year that he was suffering from the lung ailment known as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease due to smoking in his youth.
Nimoy most recently appeared on the big screen as Spock Prime in 'Star Trek Into Darkness' two years ago.
He also appeared frequently in science fiction series 'Fringe' in recent years.
