Lingerie brand's Victoria's Secret ad spoof uses plus size women to boost body confidence

Lingerie brand Curvy Kate has created a spoof of Victoria's Secret The Prefect Body ad to boost body confidence in women.

London: Lingerie brand Curvy Kate has created a spoof of Victoria's Secret The Prefect Body ad to boost body confidence in women.

Back in October, the famous lingerie brand had featured tall and skinny models to describe 'perfect' woman, which had sparked a fiery online debate, the Daily Express reported.

Now, three students, Gabriella Kountourides, Laura Ferris and Frances Black have started a petition, which was signed by over 27,000 people, calling for a change in the way women's bodies were portrayed by ads.

Curvy Kate recreated the image using women of varying body shapes, and captioning it 'The perfect body - every body is beautiful'.

The image was released as part of the brand's Star a Bra initiative, an annual competition to hunt for the next Curvy Kate model, and a spokesperson for the brand said that the campaign promotes the use of "relatable role models and promotes a positive approach to body image."
