London: A survey has found that most gadgets that we buy or are gifted are never used, and usually end up at the back of a cupboard.
In the survey of more than 2,000 adults for the Electrical Contractors’ Association it was revealed that the top five most useless gadgets included facial tanners and slow cookers.
Top of the list is the electric nail file, while the second place went to epilators and hair crimpers came third.
Other useless gadgets included that one-time must-have for every 1970s dinner party, the infamous fondue set.
“We are a nation of gadget-lovers but clearly some modern appliances are more useful than others,” the Daily Express quoted Steve Bratt, of the association, as saying.
“Although these items promise to enhance our lives, the reality is many of them will never really be used.
“It just goes to show how important it is to have a serious think before you buy – whether it’s for yourself or as a gift,” he added.
