Washington: Lupita Nyong'o's Oscar dress thief has gotten away with the crime, because the case has now been closed, thanks to Calvin Klein.

Nyong'o's 150,000 dollars pearls embedded dress, which she wore at the 2015 Academy Awards, was nicked from her hotel room, but as per law enforcement sources, the fashion brand wants the whole thing to go away, TMZ.com reported.

County Sheriff's Dept. said that since the dress was found, they had no interest in pursuing the case now that they got the dress back.

The reason? The thief had reportedly said that he had taken 2 of the pearls down to the L.A. Garment District for appraisal, but they turned out to be fake and worthless. Following that, he returned the dress to The London West Hollywood hotel and left it under a sink in a 2nd floor bathroom.

So, it could be that the brand doesn't want to put a spotlight on the phony pearls, and hence want the case not to be pursued any further.
