Madonna called `f***ing idiot` by DJ for drug reference at music festival

London: Madonna has been labelled a “f***ing idiot” by popular electronic music DJ Deadmau5, after she made a reference to drugs while addressing the crowd at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida. The pop star caused the stir during a surprise appearance at the electronic music festival on Saturday.

“Electronic music has been a part of my life since the beginning of my career and I can honestly say that a DJ saved my life,” a leading daily has quoted her as telling the crowd.

She then introduced DJ Avicii before making the controversial drug reference.

“I have a few questions for you – how many people in this crowd have seen Molly?” she said.

‘Molly’ is known as a slang term for MDMA, the active chemical in ecstasy. After hearing her comments Deadmau5, whose real name is Joel Thomas Zimmerman, took to social networking sites to criticise the singer for promoting drug use in front of younger members of the audience.

“I can appriciate [sic] her meteoric career, and all good deeds done, but WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT? That’s your big contribution to EDM? Thats your big message to ultra attendies? hipsterspeak for looking for drugs? f**k off you f**king IDIOT,” he said on Facebook.

The DJ took his outrage to other sites like Twitter too.

“Very classy there madonna. ‘HUR DUR HAS ANYONE SEEN MOLLY???’ such a great message for the young music lovers at ultra,” he tweeted.

“Quite the f’n philanthropist. but hey, at least yer HIP AND TRENDY! f*cking cant smack my head hard enough right now,” he added.

Madonna, who releases her new album, MDNA, on March 26, has yet to respond to the remarks.
