Michael Jackson`s tomb vandalised

London: Security has been stepped up around Michael Jackson`s tomb in California after vandals defaced the pop icon`s resting place with permanent ink tributes.

The `King of Pop` was interred at the Forest Lawn Cemetery memorial in Glendale, California following his deathlast year due to drug overdose, a news website reported.

Fans have flocked to pay their respects since then - but some mourners have taken to writing tributes, including `Miss you sweet angel` and `Keep the dream alive`.

Officials at Forest Lawn are fuming about the markings, because many were made using permanent ink. "Activity such as this is a prime example why we are evaluating the level of access to the various entrances of the Great Mausoleum," a representative for the site said.

It isn`t the first time fans have caused a headache at the star-studded cemetery. In May, security was increased when the tomb of late Hollywood legend Clark Gable was found covered in lipstick marks.
