My mother's death was preventable: Melissa Rivers

Los Angeles: Nearly eight months after her mother Joan Rivers' death, Melissa believes that her death could have been avoided.

The "Fashion Police" host died on September 8 last year during a minor throat surgery, reported Ace Showbiz.

On the night before she went for the surgery, she had a phone conversation with Melissa.

"All she said was, 'Ugh, I hate having to do this, getting old sucks'," Melissa recalled. The TV producer said, "In my opinion, it was 100 percent preventable."

She still believes that the fatal complication causing her mom's death could have been avoided.

The 47-year-old also shared that she got furious with the circulating rumor of what happened in the surgery room during the procedure.

"I think, the selfie," Melissa said when she was asked what bothered her the most. "There was a story circulating that during the procedure, the doctors were taking selfie of themselves, with my mother - while they were working on my mom," she added.

Melissa, however, hasn't seen the selfie pictures which are said having her mother in them. Melissa strongly believes that there must have been something wrong during the procedure.
