Director Tourism Swapnil Naik said that these cameras will have infra-red technology which will capture images even in the low light.
Naik said CCTV cameras would also be installed at state’s famous religious places, which are frequently visited by the visitors.
Goa attracts 24 lakh tourists annually, of which fou lakh are foreigners.
Naik said that the move to install cameras was the part of infrastructure development programme, which aims to make the beaches safer.
Famous beaches like Calangute, Baga, Colva, Arambol would be initially covered under the scheme.
The state tourism department has already invited tenders for setting up of this system.
