North East artists to take part in fest

Jaipur: More than 150 artists from across the North East are set to participate in a five-day festival dedicated to dance, drama and music of the region, beginning here on March 31.

National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama and Natyakulam Jaipur are holding the festival to introduce people of the Pink city to the art and culture of the North East region in which art forms from states of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh would be presented at Jawahar Kala Kendra.

`The objective of the festival --Purvottar Rang Mahotsav-2014-- is to bring the art and culture of North East Region among people here.

"Different dance and art forms will be presented by renowned artists during the festival," B R Bhargava, founder of Natyakulam, said.
