NRI teenager wins Bollywood dance award

London: An Indian-origin teenager based in the east Midlands city of Leicester has won a prize for Bollywood dancing at the World Dance Olympiad in Moscow, reports said.

Tony Joseph, 16, who was among 18,000 competitors taking part in the Olympiad, won top honours in the Bollywood adult solo section.

Tony`s family hails from Kerala, and moved to England six years ago.

Tony told the media in Leicester: "I am so excited, I can`t believe I won. I am really happy. I never knew I could do it, it is just lucky."

After winning several dance competitions in Leicester, he was selected to represent the UK at the eighth World Dance Olympiad.

The competition featured contestants performing in a host of different dance styles.

Tony`s Dennis Joseph said: "We are all thanking God for the opportunity Tony received. Being a parent, I feel so proud of what he has done. We all wanted him to do his best."
