Percept Talent to promote CWG winners, non-cricket events
New Delhi: Percept Talent Management (PTM) has decided to promote non-cricket disciplines and medal winning athletes of the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2010.
Rajnish Sahay, chief executive officer of PTM, the celebrity management division of the Percept group, says he is talking to 16 winners across different disciplines for endorsements.
"We already represent Sushil Kumar, Vijender Singh, Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponappa. We will sign up deals for Kumar for a variety of products," Sahay said in a statement.
"Health, sports, fitness and lifestyle brands will be the ones most interested in associating with these athletes. Our job is to manage PR, appearances, events that the sports people we represent feature in. We will also look after their digital rights," he added.
PTM has also roped in ace badminton player Saina Nehwal, who reportedly commands Rs.10 million per endorsement. The deals will last for three to five years.
The company is also in talks to promote non-cricket events like wrestling, badminton and shooting with grassroots programmes as well as entertainment sports events featuring Indian and international stars.
"The push that Percept will give to different sports will also help give the athletes visibility. There are also international events that take place regularly," said Sahay.
