Prince William gifts Kate late mum’s favourite earrings

London: Prince William has gifted his new wife Kate a pair of earrings that belonged to his late mother Princess Diana.

The Duchess of Cambridge was spotted wearing the diamond and sapphire gems during the couple’s official visit to Canada and the US. Kate, 29, even had the earrings remodelled into drop earrings. “Now they’re married William wanted her to have some of his mother’s favourite pieces,” the Mirror quoted a courtier as saying. The jewellery that matches Kate’s engagement ring was first seen on her ears when she and the Prince watched Andy Murray from the Royal Box at Wimbledon last month. The earrings were among Diana’s most treasured jewels. ANI
