Princess Beatrice runs race

London: Britain`s Princess Beatrice was among 5,000 runners who took part in an exhibition race at a new Olympic Stadium in London. The 23-year-old Beatrice first fired the starting gun and then joined the other runners in the National Lottery Olympic Park. She also presented medals Saturday, a leading daily has reported Sunday.

"The experience of being one of the first to cross the Olympic finish line is an extraordinary moment," she said.

Beatrice, the elder daughter of Prince Andrew, the Duke of York and Sarah, the Duchess of York, two years ago became the first royal to complete the London marathon.
