London: A dress, which can fit up to 238 people at the same time has been unveiled at a design festival in London.
Aamu Song, a Helsinki-based creator, has created Reddress, a crimson long-sleeved V-neck ballgown that can be “worn” by 238 people at one time. The dress, which is made from more than 550 metres of Kvadrat’s classic Divina wool fabric, spreads out for 10 metres in every direction over the floor surrounding the three metre high centrepiece. The popular piece will go on display in East London’s York Hall as a part of the London Design Festival, where performers will climb a concealed staircase into the dress and sing to audiences who can lie in big pockets under one of the four layers of skirt. “REDDRESS aims to question the roles we play as the participant or performer, as well as elevating the experiential boundaries of this versatile relationship,” the Daily Mail quoted Song as saying.
