Sam Worthington settles paparazzo assault case

New York: `Avatar` star Sam Worthington has settled an assault case against him by quietly entering into a conditional dismissal deal.

Worthington, 37, who had been charged for allegedly assaulting a photographer in February, was not present in Manhattan Criminal Court on April 8 when his lawyer took a conditional dismissal deal on his behalf, reportedly.

The actor wrote in a signed statement submitted to the court, "I understand that as long as I continue to lead a law-abiding life, this matter will be dismissed and sealed."

The Australian actor was arrested in February for allegedly hitting photographer Sheng Li, 37, during an altercation involving the actor`s model girlfriend Lara Bingle.
