‘Scantily-clad’ Carla Bruni too risqué for Pope and Vatican City
London: Pope Benedict XVI has refused to let Carla Bruni visit the Vatican as Italian media might publish racy photos of the French first lady.
Officials have sent a clear message to French Ambassador concerning the French First Lady’s presence during her husband’s 30-minute meeting with the Pope.
The message was titled, “Carla Sarkozy is not welcome in the Vatican,” reports the Telegraph.
Le Canard Enchaine, the satirical weekly said the Pope was concerned that her presence would spark a rash of nude and scantily clad photos from her modelling career being published in Italian newspapers.
