Sydney: Cricketer Shane Warne has emerged as the least trusted person in Australia in a new annual survey that was conducted by the Reader’s Digest.
More than 1,000 people were asked to rate how much they trusted 100 well-known people and professions on a scale of one to 10.
Warne came last in the trust survey while child health researcher Fiona Stanley topped the poll from Nobel Laureate Elizabeth Blackburn.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard stood at 97th, that is five places behind her predecessor Kevin Rudd at 92 and three places behind Liberal politician Malcolm Turnbull at 94.
“The Top Ten is dominated by people who ``care and protect``, while the tail end of the field is full of politicians, businessmen and controversial sports figures,” News.com.au quoted Reader’s Digest as saying.
Among those in the bottom 10 are embattled sports agent Ricky Nixon (93), Mel Gibson (96) and Brendan Fevola (99).
