Washington: Petra Nemcova, the model who survived Tsunami, has been named the face of Ultimo lingerie.

The 35-year-old Czech beauty, who almost died in the worst tsunami in history after being swept away during holiday in Thailand, had clung to a palm tree for almost 8 hours and had suffered internal injuries and a shattered pelvis, the Daily Star reported.

Her British photographer boyfriend Simon Atlee, was among the 280,000 people in 14 countries who perished, and his body was recovered 3 months later.

Nemcova, who founded the Happy Hearts Charity and spent the past 10 years rebuilding more than 105 schools in areas hit by natural disasters, said that she was thrilled to be following in the footsteps of beautiful women and found the lingerie really stylish and seductive.

She would be modeling Ultimo's spring/summer 2015 collection which is made up of 6 "seductive" designs by British fashion queen Michelle Mone.

Nemcova, who has dated British singer James Blunt and American actor Sean Penn and is now seeing former Haitian prime minister Laurent Lamothe, said that tsunami had given her many gifts and "one of them has been consciousness of how lucky I am."

Scottish entrepreneur Ms Mone, 43, said that Nemcova has had international success and they were delighted to have her representing the brand.
