New Delhi: The man literally above the ground—Nik Wallenda has amazed the world by his daredevilry stunt on Sunday morning. The man, who was on a mission to walk on the tightrope between two Chicago skyscrapers on a high wire—successfully accomplished his mammoth task.
Nik, not only stunned the audience by his marvelous daring attitude, but he also broke two world records at the same time. He safely managed to walk on the tightrope, blindfolded and that too without any harness or belt to protect him from falling.
There was a huge crowd of people cheering for Nik, and to watch history being made up above the ground level by about 500 feet. He walked a tightrope uphill at a 19-degree angle from the Marina City west tower across the Chicago River to the top of the Leo Burnett Building in Chicago.
According to international dailies, Nik took around six minutes to complete 454-foot journey from the Marina City west tower across the river to the Leo Burnett Building. However, he didn't end it there. Reportedly Nik pulled the blindfold and stepped out on to another wire.
This one was 543 feet from the ground, ran 94 feet between the Marina City towers, reports suggest. With this dare devil stunt, for which Nik needed just about a minute or so—he broke the world record for highest blindfolded high-wire walk, according to Guinness, reports further added.
