Mumbai: Even after the horrific gang-rape of a young paramedical student in December 2012 in the national capital and a national outrage over the incident, there has been no decline in cases of sexual violence against women.
The horrific incident not only stirred the collective conscience of the nation but also forced the Government to bring a stringent anti-rape legislation to protect the dignity of women.
Ever since the December 16 gang-rape, people across the length and breadth of the country have been proactive in one way or the other in raising concerns about safety of women in India.
It is in this context that a video produced by a group of comedians featuring actress Kalki Koechlin and VJ Juhi Pandey has grabbed a number of eyeballs on YouTube. The video in question is a satirical take on rapes.
In the video, both Kalki and Juhi can be seen sarcastically blaming women for inciting men to rape them. They talk about how the dressing of a woman can trigger a man`s imagination.
The two ladies also take a dig at people who made bizarre comments defending the rapists and holding women responsible for the crime. Remember a remark made by a Khap representative sometime back - Eating chowmein causes hormonal imbalance thereby triggering sexual drive in men!
The video has garnered over 1,234,144 views ever since it was uploaded.
