New Delhi: There have been enough instances in the past to make the girls in the country stand up and speak against rape and sexual abuse. After ruckus over Nirbhaya documentary, here comes in a new video featuring two young Mumbai girls who have stood up and sung a song hitting hard at the hypocrisy related to women folks in India.
Pankhuri Awasthi and Uppekha Jain can be seen nailing it down in the video, which shows them sing a rap song against rape. No background music has been used, rather they are shown holding placards where words such as #Rape, #DomesticViolence and #Misogyny can be read.
The young girls are trying to put their view point across, by saying that no matter what a girl wears (be it a mini dress) it should not invite unruly behaviour from men. In their innovative rap song they have addressed a lot of issues—starting from female foeticide to sexual misconduct. The young singers are also seen defining 'masculinity' for men who supported them in making this video against rape.
The video has so far garnered more than one lakh views on YouTube, making them an internet sensation.
