New York: Elizabeth Hurley, model for the Esteé Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, is obsessed with the colour pink, and she tells why.
“I adore pink! For my Indian wedding, Versace made me an astonishing pink wedding dress. I’ve also created a limited-edition Pink Romance candle to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which is exclusive to Bloomingdale’s in the US,” a news daily quoted Hurley as saying.
When asked about her most powerful moments you can remember while supporting this cause with the Lauder team, Hurley replied, “I travel the world every October handing out pink ribbons, selling Pink Ribbon products and bathing landmarks in pink lights to raise awareness. This year was amazing; we got into the Guinness Book of Records for lighting the most landmarks in a 24-hour period.”
“I have met many, many breast cancer sufferers over the years, and it is very humbling. Many of the women I meet are young — I met a lady last week in Bloomingdale’s who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in her mid-30s. It can be very upsetting. I’ve met many men who have lost their moms to the disease,” she added.
