Dame Elizabeth Taylor’s wedding dresses to be auctioned

The wedding dresses worn by late actress Dame Elizabeth Taylor will be sold off later this year as part of an auction.

London: The wedding dresses worn by late actress Dame Elizabeth Taylor will be sold off later this year as part of an auction of her clothes and accessories.
The gowns that she wore when she married Richard Burton in 1964 and again in 1975, will be among a collection of 400 dresses, handbags and shoes that will go under the hammer at Christie``s auction house in New York December this year. Taylor’s wedding gowns will be the highlights of the sale, along with an outfit she wore to the Academy Awards in 1992. "Many of the pieces in this lifetime collection were couture, custom made for Ms Taylor by designers who became her close friends," the Daily Star quoted Meredith Etherington-Smith of Christie``s as saying. The wedding dress from 1964 is expected to fetch between 26,667 pounds and 40,000 pounds. The sale will take place on 14-15 December following an auction of Taylor`s jewellery. The Hollywood legend passed away in March 2011 at the age of 79. ANI
