EC organises photo exhibition on polls

Chennai: Election Commission today organized a six-day photo exhibition as part of its diamond jubilee celebrations to showcase how the world`s largest democracy conducts polls in the country.

The exhibition, inaugurated by Chief Election Commissioner Navin B Chawla, would also depict the election process through a documentary titled `Elections in India: A Mammoth Exercise`.

Photographs related to election process are on display at the exhibition, aimed at creating awareness among public about the Commission`s work, especially during the polls.

Rare photographs of national leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Kamaraj, E V R Periyar and M G Ramachandran are also showcased for the public.
