Husain finds place in India Art Summit

New Delhi: Controversy stricken painter MF Husain has found a place in the ongoing India Art Summit after initial protests to withdraw his paintings put on display. The organizers had removed the artists’ paintings follwoing threats from certain saffron groups from across the nation, naming Husain as ‘anti-national’ and ‘anti-Hindu’. The Summit which opened Friday has now incorporated Husain’s paintings after the Ministry of Culture intervened. Talking to a news daily, Sceretary for culture Jawahar Sircar said, works out but an intervention by the ministry of culture led to the works being brought back. `` The Husains coming back are a reaffirmation of the plurality of our society.``
