Nick Jonas is keen to work more in theatre

London: Singer Nick Jonas is set to appear in a stage adaptation of hit musical `Hairspray` and hopes to land more opportunities to showcase his acting talents in front of a live audience.

The 18-year-old made his Broadway debut when he was just seven years old and starred in a production of `Les Miserables` in London last year, reported Femalefirst.

"Musical theatre has found a spot in my heart. Hopefully, I`ll be able to do more of it," said Jonas, who will be appearing on stage in Los Angeles.

Beside working with his brothers, Jonas released a solo album last year, but is now keen to turn his talents to writing for other people.

"Back in December, I started writing and producing for other people. That`s been my focus this year. I also scored a video game, which was really fun. It`s been an opportunity to be just as productive as I am with my brothers. I hope that I can have a voice with my brothers, on my own and through other people," he said.

Jonas is also working on an online talent contest for singers aged between eight and 14 and is hopeful the scheme will help a young person on the way to the success he has enjoyed.

"If there`s a kid out there who is like me at that age, I`d love to guide them to a happy life and career in music," he said.
