London: An exclusive collection of family pictures of slapstick comedian Stan Laurel would under the hammer in Newcastle next month.
They feature the comedian performing a play in his back yard at North Shields with his brother and sister. The collection has been put for sale by his great-niece, from Sunderland. Auctioneers Anderson and Garland are anticipating that it would raise up to 15,000 pound. "They are private, family photographs of a famous star and they illustrate the personal life behind the famous face," the BBC quoted Steven Moore from Anderson and Garland as saying. "These are extremely rare photographs which people are not going to see anywhere else, and I believe they will be of huge interest," he added. ANI
