‘Spider Man’ musical director stepped down over unpaid royalties

Julie Taymor stepped down as a director of ‘Spider Man’ musical for not being paid royalties for working on the project.

Washington: Julie Taymor stepped down as a director of ‘Spider Man’ musical for not being paid royalties for working on the project.
In an arbitration claim filed this week, the union representing directors said that Taymor had ‘given nine years of her life to this project’ but received no payment beyond her original director’s fee of 125,000 dollars. The Stage Directors and Choreographers Society said that the show’s producers had ‘absolutely no right... to withhold royalties that are due to her’, reports the BBC. However, the producers themselves are yet to comment on the claim. ANI
