Exhibition displays work of upcoming artists

New Delhi-based boutique art firm is holding exhibitions in various cities, including Chandigarh.

Chandigarh: Upcoming artists in India are getting a chance to exhibit their paintings in various mediums and sizes, with a New Delhi-based boutique art firm holding exhibitions in various cities, including Chandigarh.
The initiative aims at making affordable art easily accessible across India and to give a platform to the budding and even the established artists to exhibit their talent. The firm held a two-day exhibition here, which concluded today, exposing contemporary Indian art to the residents. Titled `Monsoon Art Sale`, paintings of several artists were displayed in the exhibition and were available in the price-range of Rs 40,000 to a little over Rs 1 lakh. "In a country with such a vibrant art heritage such as ours, we want to provide easy access to art for the consumer at affordable prices," said Naina Sachdev, the founder of `Art Butter`. "Our USP is our ability to offer various mediums of contemporary art forms at highly competitive prices along with personalised consultations to our clients. Besides dealing in several established artists from the prestigious Indian art fraternity, providing young and emerging artists a platform to showcase their talent is our endeavour," Sachdev said here on the sidelines of the exhibition. Having curated and co-organized several solo and group contemporary art exhibitions and auctions across India, she said that what gave her the greatest pleasure during the exhibition was to see the children from various schools dropping in and taking a keen look at the works of art. "I was thrilled to see the response from the children. They asked a lot of questions to me on the exhibition," Sachdev said, adding that more cultural activities should be promoted in the city. After Chandigarh, Sachdev plans to take the exhibition to Ludhiana later this month and later, to other cities. PTI
