Actor Christian Bale-starrer psychological thriller "American Psycho" will be adapted for a Broadway musical.
Los Angeles: Actor Christian Bale-starrer psychological thriller "American Psycho" will be adapted for a Broadway musical.
The stage musical version of Bret Easton Ellis's 1991 novel will begin performances at a to-be-named Shubert theatre on Broadway on February 19, 2016, in anticipation of a March 21 opening, reported Entertainment Weekly.
Benjamin Walker, best known as the titular President in "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter", will play murderous investment banker Patrick Bateman in the stage adaptation.
The production made its world premiere in London in 2013, with "Doctor Who" star Matt Smith in the leading role.
The show had been scheduled to premiere in the States at Off Broadway's Second Stage Theatre (with a Broadway run always on the horizon), but producers announced last fall that they would skip the Second Stage run and opted to take the show directly to Broadway.
